Grant could provide new school building
The Elbert School District was selected to receive funding from a grant from the State of Colorado Building Excellent Schools Today. The district was one of 11 selected from 102 by the Public School Capital Construction Assistance Board.

Olivia Douglas, a 15-year-old Loganville High School student, recently arrived home from California proudly wearing a gold medal. For the first time, the Amateur Athletic Union held its 2010 Junior Olympic Inline Hockey tournament west of the Mississippi.

Woman kidnapped during home invasion in W. Phoenix
PHOENIX (AP) — Phoenix police are asking for help finding a woman apparently kidnapped during a home invasion earlier this week in the Maryvale-area of West Phoenix. The woman is identified as 22-year-old Karley Rivera Saucedo. She has what police describe as a diminished mental capacity. Police say four males entered a residence near 59th Avenue and west Indian School Road early Wednesday. The …
